Well what can I say , thank you Andy for inviting me along . I can't begin to say what a fantastic 4 days I've had .
I don't think I'll ever have such a great driving experience again, unless I get an invite next year of course
Not only that but spending time with such a great bunch of guys added to the whole experience . Everything was very relaxed once the driving was finished for the day. Andy would cook for us with a little help from Alan and for those that know me well I love my food so that was a massive bonus for me. Once dinner was out of the way we would sit around the log burner having a couple of drinks chatting and swapping stories . I can't thank Andy enough who I've only met once before but now regard as a mate and for looking after me. I can say the same about all the guys, Alan for making me great porridge and milky coffee , Pete for being my drinking partner and Steve for getting me there and back safely. The whole experience was fantastic and one which I would love to be a part of again .

Indeed. I thought we were spoilt last year and it would be hard to match, but we certainly managed it again this year. The roads, the weather, the people and the cars were all perfect.Lynchy wrote:Well what can I say , thank you Andy for inviting me along . I can't begin to say what a fantastic 4 days I've had .
Taz and I set off for Cherbourg about lunchtime and still had a fantastic spirited 70+ mile drive North, taking in a few of Andy's recomendations on the way. here are a few more pics of the final day:
The additional 'encore' drive out on Sunday morning: Taz, adoring his baby: Number #019 at Flamanville

Please excuse the "off car" theme to this post but Normandy really is a beautiful area of France. It's just so quiet and sleepy and no-body is in a rush. The sun has always shone for us whenever we've been over there and it just gives you that appreciation of life, especially when the area saw so much horror not very long a go.
Taz and I stopped off to pay our respects to those who fell and paid the ultimate cost, fighting over what we are now left to enjoy.
11,000 German Soldiers lie here A very moving place in the Autumn Sun And far too many plaques for unknown soldiers Thank you Mr Wilks for the recommendation. Well worth the visit.
And back on track, a last picture of the two dirty, tired cars with 500 French miles under their belt, whilst we were killing time in Cherbourg McDonalds before boarding the ferry.
