Can I get rid of this?
Just washed the car and noticed some odd marks on the paintwork at the front. Not really sure what it is but it doesn't look very nice. Any way to get rid of them or is it a respray job? Pics attached.

Have you tried cleaning the paintwork with clay bar or something like AG SRP ?

It'll probably polish off so give that a go. Unless it's the clear coat that's damaged

I tried going at it with my clay mitt but it didn't seem to do anything, though I didn't try for very long.
I did wonder if it was some kind of damage to the clear coat. I'll keep at it with some polish though and see if it makes a difference. Feels fairly smooth to the touch.
Cheers,
Phil

I would stop before doing anything and work out what it is. Are the marks fine chips or something on the surface?
Just claying more and more or polishing is a sure way to end up quickly needing a respray..
If in doubt drop into a spray shop and ask if this is something they can polish out or does it need respraying. They will gladly tell you and quote to do it.

It certainly feels a bit rougher to the touch. Am baffled as to what it's from to be honest.
Good shout re:taking it to the pros. There's one round the corner from my work so I'll pop it round tomorrow and see what they reckon.

Looks like it's had a repair at some point. A bodyshop might try to wet sand it then mop it. However, it's hard to make out what's really going on.

You're spot on. There was a repair but much further round. Seems the guy that did it for some reason decided to blend it in really far and did a bad job.
I took it to a local detailer who spotted it straight away.
So on Weds I got another bodyshop company to strip it back and respray it and it looks like new now.
