new coupe arives Thursday

Post by Machine monkey » Tue Mar 11, 2014 3:46 pm

As the title says me Mrs Monkey get our new coupe on Thursday. Its a TDI TT black edition with the amplified pack sat nav and a few other options. Apparently it will 45-50mpg comfortably it has the S Tronic gear box and for a diesel is really quite responsive. It goes against all my car buy wants being an auto and a diesel. But on the test drives i am honestly very impressed. A few pictures for you to look at let me know what you think good or bad?

That does look great Matt!

I do agree on your views re: diesel but if it serves it's purpose then that's the main thing.

I always did scratch my head seeing a derv TT/SLK though, quite glad BMW haven't gone in that direction though

Thanks Neil

On paper it should feel quite slow 7.5 0-60 but that's actually quite deceiving it really pulls when you floor it. And the gear changes are seamless.

Its primarily the wife's car and she is not bothered about speed at all. As long as its frugal and looks nice. And it dose both of those well.

Audi are doing some great deals as the new one is due this autumn.

Love the TT, such a great looking car (and interior). Would gladly take one as a daily driver if it's returning 50mpg....diesel or not, has to be better than my 1.7 CDTI astra

Hi Mat,

Nice looking TT  , I've had diesel daily driver's for years, you soon get used to all the low end torque, so much so getting back into a petrol car sometimes feel a bit gutless! (Not the Z thou :D ).

Stu.

how many miles do you have to do for a diesel to pay for itself, it used to be about 20k

I think they will fit Steve by the time the seats fold down. I hope to come in my car anyway.

I am really happy with both diesel and the auto to be honest. Never thought i would but i am. Still nice to have the zed as a weekend car :)

I will report back once we have done some miles and give you a true MPG. The wife's will be a lot higher than mine!!
