2015 RS3 Sportback

Post by Anon » Wed Dec 17, 2014 5:35 pm

Better looking than the previous variant and looks like a very capable Q car.

Not sure about the red for the promo pics, looking forward to see what they look like in Daytona Grey with the Black Pack.

Weren't all the Haldex diff sporty Audi's of the last 10 years rear drive biased?

That's not bad at all, But some wider squared blistered arches would send it over the edge... Somebody somewhere should do a wide body kit

Allegedly! the reality was a fair bit different though, the very recent ones are supposed to be pretty effective from what I have read, our 2012 TTS was still very much FWD led even though I was meant to shift it to the rear wheels when needed.

I thought the TTS was front bias? Well at least that's what the silly audi salesman was babbling on about at the dealership when we went to see one.

What I mean is the haldex 4WD system that is on the TTS is still meant to shift 100% drive to the rear wheels when its needed but it only ever feels FWD when you are driving it so its just not very good but the latest haldex system is meant to do it far more effectively I have read.

For me if a salesman said to me it was front bias I would be out of the door faster than lightening because who wants a FWD led 4WD system because in reality you may as well bin the 4WD system off which adds additional weight and buy the FWD TT instead.

Obviously you wouldn't expect me to like this but....I reckon this ought to be a lot better than the last version (which was crap). It's based on the same platform as the Golf, which has done very well as a drivers car in current guise. Unless of course Audi RS do what they usually do, I.e. f*** something up that should be great, it could be a really good car. It will need to be though, with an M2 on the horizon.

Still looks dreadfully dull though. Could they make it look any more boring if they tried?

I also quite like the Q3 RS, definitely a marmite car, but the EVO and Top Gear reviews actual rate it as a good daily driver for our British roads. Strong residual value as well.

Not as capable as the Macan S, but the Macan is considerably more to get a similar spec plus you'll be waiting until 2016 to get one if the waiting list reports are correct.

A lot of expectation resting on its shoulders Lee! I think it should be a corker. Don't be surprised if the power and torque figures are virtually identical to this RS3!
