M240i Convertible
Having gone from a Z4 35iS to an A45 AMG I am back looking at BMW's after only 13 months !
Anyone got an M240i convertible ?
I am looking at 2 at almost the same price ... not new as I don't want to wait ... but need to beat the BMW dealers PCP APR down a bit !
One is a 17 plate with 250 miles on it ... Business Nav and reversing camera but 8.9% APR
The other a 66 plate with 5500 miles on it ... Pro Nav and 6.5% APR
All other spec the same.

Can't help on the 240 but how come you didn't keep the AMG out of interest?

The wait for a new one is not very long if your dealer has a build-slot booked. I confirmed on 10th June and car is already built to my spec and en route to dealer. I chose M240i convertible, after longish test drive, as best mix of X3 35d and Z4 3.0 (two for one...)
Looking forward to getting it and will let you know if it delivers as expected. ( or Don't expect high-performance assessment though - too old for all that!! )

PS X3 on eBay now - Z4 will follow. Plan to keep M240i for a while though!

I still have the A45 ... but miss convertible and a gorgeous engine noise. The A45 is 2L so no decent noise.
It is very quick but doesn't have the immediate torque of my old Z4 35iS and I miss that. When let loose it flies and is 4WD but I am a sucker for a decent engine noise wise and this just doesn't have it. Build etc is great and no issues at all ... but when I drove the M240i with the roof down I loved it.

The 17 plate with 250 miles. I know it has had 250 'demo' miles so will treat it realistically but gently for the remainder of the recommended 'running in' period. That and Tesco 99 or Shell 99 only
I can't wait for the sound ! I am told there is a M Performance Exhaust but the standard one sounds as loud as my Z4 35iS did !! I think the MPE may be a step too far for SW London

Enough extras ... not loads. No pro nav, no electric seats ... but those are the only bits I would have spec'd. It has HK sound, heated steering wheel (a first for me), heated seats, reversing camera and auto dimming / auto on lights, wipers etc. I hardly use a sat nav but wanted live traffic ... though have found out the std nav can have it for a £50 a year sub. Not ideal but this one was better and in the end cheaper than the older 66 plate one with 5K miles. This is as new with 250 on the clock.

Sounds great although I thought you would have kept the A45 for longer? I had a hire car for a few weeks last winter with a heated wheel, it was surprisingly good, I think I would tick that box on the option list.

I was going to keep the A45 longer ... it is only just loosening up and has been 100% OK + very well made .... but I made the mistake of looking at an M4 Competition Pack Convertible (only as I am selling a property and could afford it) but then the other half saw the M240i. I drove it and it was a lot of fun. Same sound and performance as my Z4 35iS but smaller.Wondermike wrote: ↑Thu Jun 29, 2017 9:01 pm Sounds great although I thought you would have kept the A45 for longer? Very pretty looking motor. The M Performance exhaust is an epic add-on. I've added it to my 440i the sound is awesome

Congrats! I love my 240, you will be impressed with the new engine as it gets some miles on!
I think the Mpe would be a nice addition, lots of clips on YouTube

As you're asking for views... 8.9% or 6.5% APR?! Bonkers! Surely, if you need finance, look elsewhere or take out a personal loan. I guarantee you'd save 50% on the rate, if not more.SO8 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2017 6:58 am Having gone from a Z4 35iS to an A45 AMG I am back looking at BMW's after only 13 months !
