looking for another classic
quite a response , thanks to all
I don't want a soft top as I've got the stag and the Z so it has to be a car with a proper roof.
Really don't want a pipe and slippers plodder (the stag is slow enough and thats reasonably quick)
so for me it comes down to the Sprint or the Vitesse and I've had that straight 6 in a TR6. Yes i've done my research and looked a quite a few of each, I'm used to fragile 70's mechanicals - i run a stag! So tomorrow its off to look at a very likely Sprint at the right money - about the 7th or 8th car I've looked at this time round but so far the most promising.

I sold my Stag about 6 years ago, it was honestly a dream to own, work on and get bits for compared to the Sprint. But if it's an itch that has to be scratched then I salute your bravery and look forward to the pics

Looks like a well kept / restored car!
At first glance it looked like a big ding between the doors

You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

bit of both, been neglected in the last year but meticulously maintains prior to that. I recon about 20 hours work over the next month or so will see it in fine fettle - really goes well too

Great choice! Looks smart. A proper 'modern-classic'.
IMHO, Z4 is the modern TR6. You could even argue that the Z8 is successor to the Stag.
That would make the Dolly Sprint the Modern-Classic to the E36 M3 saloon in my book.

the sprint was introduced in response to the BMW 2002 Tii, no fancy turbo, just a fancy head and crap build quality, if only they'd built them right in the 70's we might all be waxing lyrical about our daily Triumphs and Rovers and being all nostalgic about our classic BMWs
still I like my classic Brit cars and their awful build

Really liking your Sprint! I'm pretty sure we had a Toledo in that colour when I was a kid in the 70's. We then had a white dolomite 1500 and then a 1850 HL which I loved for the twin headlamps, egg crate grill and being allowed to switch on the over drive from the passenger seat.

Very nice, looks the same as my old one which was Pimento Red (pillar box) and the most popular colour they did
