If he's added the basics of a 2.5si to his engine he'll get to 218. So he's saying intake and exhaust mods with a flash has seen him gain 37HP. That's not beyond the realms of possibility is it?Smartbear wrote: ↑Thu Oct 05, 2017 1:06 pm
Even if it had ten disa’s it wouldn’t produce 255horses, we haven’t seen the Dyno print out yet?

I think your Dyno sheet shows a forced induction engine? I’m talking about the OP normally aspirated 2.5litre engine making 255bhp......Joycey wrote: ↑Thu Oct 05, 2017 1:17 pmThe page before I posted the dyno print out.
I'll have to find the link of Zpost about the way the disa's work together with the valvtronic system to get all the extra.

That's exactly what I'm trying to say. The print out shows a supercharger bolted to a 2.5. The OP asks about ways to increase power but thinks they don't make one for the 2.5 when ESS do.Smartbear wrote: ↑Thu Oct 05, 2017 1:21 pmI think your Dyno sheet shows a forced induction engine? The OP says that intake & exhaust changes gave him 205bhp which means the ecu tune gave an extra 50bhp on a normally aspirated engine. That’s not realistic imho.Darkangelv2 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 05, 2017 1:20 pmIf he's added the basics of a 2.5si to his engine he'll get to 218. By the same reckoning the 3litre n52 would be mappable to 315bhp or so, it’s never going to happen.

Ok last time the principle is not the ecu tuning gave me 50 HP but the fact that the same engine is used in a newer model and for some reason the E85 has restrictions mainly in ecu. The ecu was completely reprogrammed it took a week of modifications dyno testing etc. This is normally not possible in atmospheric engines this was my luck that the same engine with some different parts has 160kw in a newer model of Z4

It doesn’t though, 160kw is 214bhp, the e89 2.5litre produces 201bhp.Scarp wrote: ↑Thu Oct 05, 2017 1:38 pm Ok last time the principle is not the ecu tuning gave me 50 HP but the fact that the same engine is used in a newer model and for some reason the E85 has restrictions mainly in ecu. Possibly but the op has already said that intake & exhaust modes gave him 205bhp, something doesn’t add up here?jamie_z4 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 05, 2017 1:42 pmmaybe the 89 variant is different output in different continents Rob?Smartbear wrote: ↑Thu Oct 05, 2017 1:41 pmIt doesn’t though, 160kw is 214bhp, the e89 2.5litre produces 201bhp.Scarp wrote: ↑Thu Oct 05, 2017 1:38 pm Ok last time the principle is not the ecu tuning gave me 50 HP but the fact that the same engine is used in a newer model and for some reason the E85 has restrictions mainly in ecu. what I saw in specifications mine has 130kw the E89 I think 2,5SI or something like that has 160kw dont know how its in US . Thats where we started to search the differences. The E85 has idiot made cat system So theoretically if you have stock E89 parts and soft on my engine it should generate 160kw . Same engines in bmw have different power output I looked at the 3 liter biturbo for my car and it has like 4 power versions

and for the 2,5 liter there is no supercharger I contacted ESS like 4 times they only have a kit for the 3,0 . As far as I have researched for the N52B25 there is no supercharger available . I could install a shrick cumshaft taht would give me another 20-30 HP but thats more of a racecar mod then a normal usage fun car
The only sollution in my case can be swap to a N52B30 and supercharge it

One supercharged 2.5
This is the first E89 they've done so might not be on the market yet.

A big thing in the states they love is buying our N52 manifolds, We have two disa's giving the higher bhp figures. They don't have them over there I'm lead to believe.
[/quote]
This is the same as I've read in my research for more power out of the N52B30 (without spending £5k+ on a S/C)... the states have 325/328 that run a de-tuned version of our (UK) 3.0si, they all seem to switch out the inlet manifold for the one we get as standard! Using the inlet manifold is well known BMW trick for restricting power, pity is the 3.0si already gets the best BMW produce! Presumably fitting a 3.0si manifold to 2.5si will give a bit more power on the E85, good news for those on here with a 2.5si!
Curious as to how you get a dual DISA valve set up working on a car that's only designed to run 1 though... would you have to splice another connector into the ECU?
