Is my top fully open?
I think it isn't fully open, but the wife thinks it is.

Thinking back to when I had one I'm pretty sure it was flush when open - doesn't the red light flash if not fullyclosed/open?

No red lights are showing on the button panel, and i am sure it used to be flush as well, but the wife insists it has always been like that :/
I only noticed it when I took off the wind deflector, and that 1cm gap has been annoying me ever since, checked all the folding straps are there and working, the hinges have been greased, so i'm at loss.

That looks about right though not too neat.
And if you do need it pushing down a touch, there is a solution.

<Edited due to talking bollocks>. Be nice to see a pic from the side showing how flush the rear edge is with the boot trim.

It is fine but not as intended. Just before it stops give it a little bit of help down and it'll click. Push that button at the top of the rear console and it'll take the latch off and rise to that position. Mine is exactly the same as that. Holds up at 110mph just fine (off road of course) without wind deflector.

There is no switch between the roll hoops, on any of them. The roof gets told it has competed opening by the hall sensor on the passenger side ram/hinge, at this point the roof control ecu signals the locking catches to close. This also extends the front latching tab, which slides forward into the slot on the bracket between the hoops if there is one fitted, but obviously on the later cars with no bracket, the tab doesn't lock into anything.
The flashing red light is a signal that either the hall sensor hasn't reached it's closed position, sometimes because the bracket between the hoops is catching and stopping the roof from dropping down, or because you've not kept your finger on the button until it's completed the whole procedure INCLUDING raising the windows.
A lot of them just click into place once you've driven off, owing to the vibration causing them to "settle" into the fully stowed position.

Looks fine to me - but to be honest I don't pay much attention to things behind me; either I've passed it or its not caught me up yet!
Anyway top down in December - well done sir

Hmmm I think tomorrow I am going to half open it then switch to manual and try and open it all the way by hand, that last 1cm really does grind my gears.
If it is catching on the latch and not dropping down completely Im guessing I can just get the catch removed without issues as the facelift model doesnt have one. However having said that I do like the autobahn and have been known to pass 140ish at times, would that be a problem? (would the wind suck the softtop open if its not latched properly)
