£480 with elephant, total excess £250, protected NCB.
Morethan were even cheaper but are a bit unclear about their mods (ie no 19" alloys or strut brace allowed) and european cover.
Trying to get track cover included or as an add on was very difficult as there doesnt seem to be the deals available like there are for the Porsche crowd.
Might move to Aplan when I need to. Their premium was much higher and their normal excess starts at £500.

Just to upset you all then...

Renewed with Tesco. They wanted £290 fully comp. protected NCB, £500 excess.

Checked with Swift as per the eallier link and was offered same deal at £210. Tesco could not match it but reduced by £20 and sent me a £50 gift
card (redeemable as in one go and we shop there anyway) Bottom line is it cost £220 just for getting one competitive quote and asking for a discount

I guess that living in Staffs and getting on a bit and driving several cars...

Just insured my run about with Swiftcover as was cheapest available, (a very old VW polo).
Looks like the Z4, (2.2i), will be about £350 with them so will def be checking them out at renewal time.

That is a good point to consider. Just spoke to swiftcover and providing you have the exact same details on both vehicles (drivers covered, address etc) then you can use the no claims discount on both policies.

I found Admiral to be the cheapest for me - 2nd place to elephant.

I think they are the only ones which properly list my car

Elephant was cheapest for me. ~£800, 4yrs ncb with protected option, 25 year old male, parents both as named drivers.

Social use with 8k mileage per year parked off street.

Most of the boy racer companies didn't want a quote on cars over 15k
Silver Grey 2007 Z4MR which needs to be driven more  :P  :D

Well its the third car just got the Boxster down to £450 and the Freelander to £340 so I would hope to get the Z4 down to £400 ish next year.

I pay £490 for myself and my wife. I'm 35, claires 30, I've got 10 years of NCB, no accidents but I do have 6 points on my license. Thats on an 07 coupe sport, unlimited mileage, 10K bussiness miles a year. Garaged.

I live down on the southcost so I guess I have a reasonable postcode?

Just bought my Z4 on Saturday and ended up going with BMW Insurance - had a quote through elephant.co.uk for £717 for 10 months (bonus accelerator thing), and BMW came in at £770 for 12 months - by far the cheapest for me - had loads of stupid quotes around the 3k mark!

Details: 26 year old male, 4 years NCB, protected no claims, car kept in a garage, social and commuting, limited to 6k miles a year. (thats for a 2004 3.0i SE Roadster)
2004 3.0i SE Roadster, Sterling Grey, 18" Ellipsoids, black oregon leather, heated electric seats, Carver, PDC, cruise-control, cup-holders, wind deflector, auto lights & wipers, xenons, auto-fold mirrors, AUX input

Any tried BMW insurance? They were the cheapest for insuring my E46 320 diesel compact. Even the following year they reduced the premium so were still the cheapest. About to call them soon to see what the hit will be to insure the Z4
