The RCH+ was definitely the best mod I ever did, had it on both cars.

The scotchclips supplied with them can be temperamental, after a couple of gremlins I removed mine & used electricians chocolate block instead, it's been 100% ever since

i had read the supplied blocks could be a pain, and low and behold.... the 1st time it clipped them all together it didn't work

although..... a quick wiggle and recheck of them all and it worked fine and has done ever since (a year) I suppose its just down to luck/skill how well you connect the clips (more luck in my case haha)

I'm tempted but even with 25% off I still think they're expensive. I can already lower the roof using my key fob and find it hard to justify £95 just for the one touch feature and being able to raise the hood from the fob, especially as I've got an auto so holding my finger on the button as I pull away isn't difficult.

No doubt I'll end up buying one anyway

Deffo good to know as I had not thought of a passenger pressing the roof button at 100mph instead of heated seats or something

They tend to hold most of their re-sale value when taken off if the car is sold. So it's not like you are throwing the money away, someone normally buys it up pretty quick!

Personally, I don't like them as they partially sever the wire, this creates a weak spot that can break. I'd rather cut the wire and crimp on insulated bullet connectors instead. Crimping is the preferred way to make a strong physical connection between wires as it gives a more consistent connection and also reduces strain as the end of crimped connector grips the insulation of the wire rather than the wire itself.

You can open the roof on pre-2005 by holding the key in the door, so you still dont need to get in it, if its hot.

£50 I'd be tempted - £100 I 'm not (...yet !)
Ah, so you're the one with the "flimper" spec'd Alpina

Unless SkiPi's all-in-one module comes to fruition and works as well as it looks like it will. Then I suspect the market may be flooded with unloved Gaptech modules...
