Detected a new knocking!
Coming from the rear, but had new shocks and RTABs done a few weeks ago so can rule them out.
Can be heard when pushing the car down hard, and repeats a few times after the car seems to settle, suggesting it's something loose and knocking around?

Finally found a proper solution to those nasty plastic rivets that hold the edge of the front liners to the bumper! An M8 dome headed hex bolt fits perfectly, and actually screws itself into the hole in the bumper! However, I'll be reaching through the access flaps to fit a nyloc nut to the back of them, I got stainless bolts/nuts and they are currently drying after a few coats of satin black...
Also got some new pads as the fronts got decidedly noisy on my 370 mile road trip today, and started to smell after a bit of "enthusiastic" B road driving No wear light, but they do look a bit thin on the front, only had them for about 10 months/10k miles. Pagid last time, Brembo this time, was surprised how cheap they were @ Euro...
Up on the lift to fit all the bits tomorrow, oh and fitted the wipers I picked up a couple of weeks ago in Costco - Michelin "hybrid" for a fiver each!
Mike

Sure I checked them multiple times to ensure they were right when installing, but I suppose it's not too big a job to check when I get the time.Ducklakeview wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2017 9:14 pmIncorrectly assembled/torqued top mounts?mjennings23 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2017 7:24 pm Detected a new knocking!

It's odd, it almost seems intermittent, sometimes it doesn't seem to happen, or at least quiet enough that I don't hear it. Then other times it's irritatingly obvious!

Cleaned the hood drain holes, car usually lives in a garage but has spent a few days outside recently. Thought it would be worthwhile to check the drains. Both were damp and slightly clogged up. Cleaned out and now draining freely
Car tucked up and back in the garage by the weekend

I took my standard halo ring bulbs out and replaced them with LED's then coded out the dash warning. Looks so much nicer.

Fitted my Alpine headunit and the sound quality is much improved over standard. Bluetooth Audio streaming too !
Had no issues with the parking sensors - does replacing the headunits effect the sensors normally?

Done yesterday but didn't have time to check in here before a party last night... now sat here with an incredible hang over!
Jacked up and removed the camber pins so I could slide the struts as far inboard as possible before a full four wheel alignment on a hunter.
The main reason was to get my new wheels rub free at the rear (Success! ). I thought I'd make the most of being on the hunter so got the fronts maxed out as far negative as possible - hopefully it will have reduced the understeer in the twists when having fun

I couldn't find anyone talk about it online for the zed but other newer BMW's do have a problem that some times the PDC doesn't work without an additional adapter box

Swapped the Sonar headlights onto my mates coupe. Think the swap suits both cars better
