Hi all,
I have bought the necessary parts to service my 3.0si Coupe but foolishly didn't check the oil spec, and have discovered that BMW LL01/LL04 isn't listed on the bottle (Shell Helix Ultra Professional AG 5w30). Would it be okay to use or should I get a different oil that meets the BMW spec?
This is what I purchased:

Thanks,
Josh

The spec is all important
As long as it's (Preferably) LL04 or LL01 the grade is not so important:
0W30
5W30
5w40
0w40
Are all OK to use in the N52 engine, with 5W30 probably being best suited to our climate.

Ah thanks for this, I suspected so - even though with the spec comparison (dexos2 v LL01/04) they aren't a million miles apart I don't think I'll risk it. I didn't know Shell had expanded their range specifically, I usually get the normal Shell Helix which meets LL01/04, didn't check the spec as I assumed this was just an enhanced version

That will be fine just don't follow the longlife term on the cars obc before changing it in the future ( which imo you shouldn't no matter which oil you use )JoshW wrote: ↑Mon Apr 24, 2017 1:24 pm Hi all,
