Different type of roof failure...
Doing a job for a dealer earlier. Repaired and relocated the dead motor, only to find there was a leaking pipe. Of course, it was No14, the bottom one on the drivers side and the worst one to do. Gets it out, without removing the roof and it's not the pipe that's split..
The metal elbow had rusted through due to being sat in the water!
Luckily I now carry a full set of pipes, so all done and dusted in around 2hrs.
Just another one to look out for and another reason to keep the drains clear!

Well done Mike.
That's nasty and something we are all more likely to see as time goes on.

Good work, but how the hell you get in to there without taking off the roof I don't know
You must have bendy Gibbon arms or something

Can't believe they made the hose ends from mild steel and not stainless!
At least the replacements I fit are stainless, and they are braided stainless hoses rather than the thermoplastic type fitted from the factory which, if they get kinked, will split at that point. The pipe retaining plate was also quite corroded, but cleaned up. Wouldn't surprise me if we start to see the plates failing and the hoses simply popping out, to add insult to injury, the screw retaining the plate IS stainless!

And yet another one yesterday, again drivers side lower hose.
I think people are paying more attention to making sure the other side is draining properly, BUT the smaller trough on the drivers side only takes about 100ml of water to fully submerge the bottom of the ram, and cause this..

Mike - have you heard of ACF-50? A corroded roof motor would be the perfect application / preventative treatment.
