Tyre on the wrong way round...
Okay...so after two weeks of hassle free ownership I think I may have found my first problem:
When checking the tyre pressures today I noticed my driver side front tyre had no writing or brand marking on the sidewall at all, on closer inspection it appears the tread is also the opposite way to the passenger side front tyre. I'm a bit annoyed as I would have thought this is something that might show up in the "stringent checks" that BMW dealerships are supposed to undertake on cars being sold as AUC!
On a side note...how much of a real world issue is this? Will be taking it to a local tyre shop tomorrow anyway...

There should be a directional arrow pointing forwards or the word "OUTSIDE" which if you can't see either they could well be on the inner side are the other 3 tyres the same & have they either of the above noticecable ?

Well if that's right then I will be furious as the car went through it's MOT when it was sold to me.pvr wrote:The real issue is that it fails an MOT with that.

Re: Tyre on the wrong way round...
I think I would be contacting the dealership you bought it from before going to a local tyre shop unless you mean to get their advice.
Can't believe you've had an AUC delivered like that - so many opportunities for them to see this error - amazed
What else have they missed?

AUC = Allow User to Check
Basically the dealership do the minimum amount of work to get it viable on the forecourt (so cosmetic damage will be sorted out) then simply correct issues when the new owner whinges. This is because BMW picks up the bill rather than the dealership.

Re: Tyre on the wrong way round...
Quick question......you wanted to check the wheels prior to pick up due to your fear of cracks, I assume the tyres were still on the rims and these hadn't been removed also? Just in case it's at this stage the error happened.
But sometimes these MOTs for AUC cars seem a bit 'dodgy'
