I noticed the Carly App has an option to 're-cycle/re-charge' your Nox filter! I googled Nox and it seems to be a diesel thing.
Can anyone enlighten me please???

I cant see that option on my Carly app (which is strange as I only downloaded it today!), It will most likely be a diesel specific function like the DPF functions.
Petrol engines do produce NOx, but to convert the NOx they have three way catalysts, which don't require any monitoring or regeneration, unlike the filters fitted to most diesel engines.

Newer petrol engines sometimes have a specific NOX cat that can require regeneration. I think the n53 and some n43 engines have one (they also have a specific nox sensor for that). But I dont think any of the e89 engines have them.scottleonard101 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2017 6:56 pm

Usually the 3 way cat is enough for a petrol engine to convert the NOx with the carbon monoxide in the mixture to N2 and CO2, but on the much leaner running diesel engines there is of corse far less carbon monoxide present. And as petrol engines get leaner and leaner in normal running mode, this will also become a problem with petrol engines (And lean running also of course produces more NOx by itself)
