Hi,
What's the best lube to use to oil all the roof mechanisms?

Motorcycle spray-on chainlube could be ok for this, it goes on with a low viscosity carrier (hopefully reaching the required pivots) this then evaporates leaving a more gloopy grease to do the lubricating

Nearly suggested that but my experience is it tends to go sticky too quickly and any excess is difficult to remove with a rag, bit messy.
Better some thicker gearbox oil and wipe off excess.
3in1 comes these days in a handy plastic bottle, so easy to apply just a few drops.

gearbox oil, are you sure! Most gearbox oils smell awful and are runny, not designed to 'cling'. Any grease in an aerosol, white lithium for example is very fluid and penetrates the pivot before the carrier fluid evaporates.flybobbie wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2017 9:28 pm Nearly suggested that but my experience is it tends to go sticky too quickly and any excess is difficult to remove with a rag, bit messy.
