So at the end of this do you run the E89 on normal unleaded or premium unleaded.......
Is it all a myth and all the fuel is really the same .

In the handbook and on the label inside the fuel flap it says to use premium grade 95 RON. It adds that fuel as low as 91 can be used but no lower. Presumably the ecu can retard enough to cope with that but cannot cope with lower quality fuels. There is no mention of anything above 95 RON. I will use a tankful of super every now and then just for the cleaning additives but most of the time I’ll be using standard 95 RON as recommended.

I have a friend with a 3 series, he removed his front plate a year ago, no-one has ever stopped him or questioned it even though it is illegal!!

Honestly Lazza you can't please everyone, each to there own, i am very very very proud of both my cars and i like to be individual, and at the end of the day its my money and my choice and as for the M badge it has grown on me and staying there. As for the plates i have the full series S1, S2 and S3 and all on short plates and will stay like that .
I mean for example why would you want to advertise on the side of a car or even the back the size of an engine, what brainwave thought of that one.
I will carry on modding and probably posting on the forum and positive or negative i will just smile and carry on.
thanks everyone for commenting

I haven’t commented on any of your mods so far. I think it looks great! My only comment was on the fuel. I was just pointing out to elevensies that you had invited opinions

I like the front numberplate but on the rear I think short plates look a bit daft when you have a cutout specifically for the plate. Just looks like there is supposed to be something bigger in there (which of course there is)
I've always run short plate on the front full size at the rear, except on my current zed as I'm not sticking the short on until I get the holes from the big plate holder filled and painted over

I had short (cut down) plates on my 1 Series and was told it was illegal due to it not displaying the details of who supplied the plate or the BS number
Not sure if this was rubbish but I didn’t get pulled over or fail an MOT in the 12 months I had them on.

The which fuel topic comes around as often as the moon!
There has never been a definitive answer as far as I know.

There is a measurement for margins. Its 11mm. You can find the exact specifications on the government/DVLA site. Used to be larger for older plates.
