Hi ,
My z4 has done about 47000 miles so wanted to get the oil and oil filter changed
its roughly about £179 at BMW
and 120-140 at BMW specialists ,
considering i have got full service history i want to get it done professionally . does anyone know any good deals going on at BMW or Specialists .

I wouldn't be surprised if your car still has the original oil filter fitted, lots of garages, including main dealers just suck the old oil out and leave the filter. If you search the forum, you will see some FSH cars with shagged filters .blood_game18 wrote:Hi ,

I do my own, I know that it's done and that I have got as much of the old oil out as possible, It's then filled with good oil and a new filter.
DIY, it's very easy and rewarding too

Which model do you have? As an FYI plugs are also due at 45,000miles on the 35i.
You can cut some of the cost out by just going for the oil and oil filter service with BMW or your independent and changing the microfilter yourself, which is a reasonably straight forward job.

hi , its a 2.3i and what about not having a BMW stamp in the service history ?

yea i was thinking that but its the just about the bmw stamp im thinking about

What would be the best oil to change it too ? 5w30 ?
