Can't quite believe I have now had my e89 for 2 years. It's not all been plain sailing but overall I'm still glad I got one.
It was MOT time again this week and once again I got a cracked wheel. Very disappointed as I replaced my 296 wheels and run flats last year after they cracked to try and avoid it happening again. It seems the roads around Nottingham are the real problem. Any way that has been sorted and the car had no advisory items.
The car also had new front discs and pads and a full service before it's MOT so it's running super smooth and has a clean bill of health again.
Today was all about getting it back up to standard. So its been washed, clayed, polished and waxed.
This was the first time I have used my new DA polisher. Pretty happy with the results I used poor boys super swirl remover and a light pad so nothing to abrasive for a first attempt but it did a good job. Car was finished off in Auto Glym HD wax.
Overall I'm happy with the car and how it's looking. I am tempted to have a colour change on my wheels sometime soon I would like a brighter finish than the current matte finish. The Z4M itch is still there but I would find it very hard to part with my e89. Ideally I would have both !

It looks beautiful.
2 questions?
How did you deal with stone chips?
Was the new wheel that cracked on a non-RFT?

I have some touch up paint that I got off eBay that is a decent colour match and a got a primer touch up as well to put on first. I use some fine paint brushes I got from a stationary shop. I have a couple of bad ones but have managed to touch them in.
Yeah the new wheels were on non-RFT. I think a higher profile tyre may have helped a bit. Roads are shocking round here though. Only just done 8k miles on them
