I did it way back in 2009, was only going slow and didn't think much of it. I was seeing if a handbrake turn was possible. Not fast enough to and wouldn't really skid so didn't try it again.
Sold the Z4 M Roadster and a 911 Carrera S now I have a 2021 Z4 3.0i

Be nice to me, Rob. I saw your front tyres today.
What were you doing sniffing around my tyres! You weren't measuring my tyre pressures were you? :o

Wow, now it's a switch. :)
So what would you rather it was called, a lever??
Does it really matter what anybody has called it, everybody knows what the subject is about.

Which pressures would those be, Rob? The fronts or the backs? The ... or the ... ?

Tyres aside, Rob, the paintwork looks wonderful. Is it 'Pearl' white or 'Mineral'?

And the seats didn't look bad, either. A re-paint?

Ta, its a mineral white car-seats & paint all original as far as I'm aware?
Was that your car with the individual spec interior (chocolate/cream with wood trim)

By "re-paint" I meant only your seats. The bodywork looks immaculate. Mind you, so do the seats.

Mine? The dirty* red 35iS with the 295 twists (on Pirelli P Zero MO XLs at 36psi front & 44psi rear  ) & ivory white interior. (*Because the fest was booked solid, I didn't clean it, came only on spec, parked in the public car park & walked in. Neil spoke to me later, said 60 people hadn't turned up & told me to bring it in ... so I did.)

I tried this too. Not on my Z4 of course, but on a hire car whilst speeding through an empty car park that had gravel not tarmac (surely it would have been rude not to). Back brakes locked up very quickly for virtually no effort - great fun, took me back to my youth...

I've had it demonstrated on a Discovery on sales day - the fella pulled the handbrake while I was driving - throttle more or less died and the steering went very numb and straight ahead mode - the car also slowed down quickly - a passenger would have probably been able to prevent a biggie in my opinion.
You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.
