Retrofit cruise
Hi, I've retro fitted a cruise control to my 04 Z4, fitting was straightforward. Looking at the install instructions after fitting it says to " Encode program the retrofit with SSS via the retrofit/cip path". Anyone know how I might do this, is it necessary?

Re: Retrofit cruise
From my own experience, no coding was necessary and it works perfectly.
Have you tried it yet?

Re: Retrofit cruise
Only tried at low speed 30mph and nothing, didn't want to do anymore without info. Thanks for the heads up.

Re: Retrofit cruise
Coding not required and dozens on here have fitted it inc. me.
Can't recall exactly but don't think it works below 30mph.
Get it up to 50 on a longer bit of road and push the lever away from you. pull to drop speed. Will cancel as soon as you touch the brakes or use the stalk like and indicator.
If it doesn't work then recheck your connections

Re: Retrofit cruise
Is this retro fit a simple matter of fitting an additional stalk to the steering cowl? I don't have CC on mine but would like to fit it if it's as simple as it sounds.

Re: Retrofit cruise
All working fine, must travel faster! I was also expecting a indicator lamp on the dash! Thank you for the support .

Re: Retrofit cruise
This is in the how-to section for e85/86, for post-04 and facelift cars - http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic ... lit=Cruise
Pre 2004 is simpler as the loom is already there, and there is a how-to for that as well if you search for 'cruise' in the same area.
Recommend at least skimming each thread as there are added hints and tips from many of the people who have done it... But if Jan_Tekin and I can do it then anyone can

Re: Retrofit cruise
Instructions state "as long as you are going faster than 20 mph" you can engage cc.
Never tried at such a low speed but definitely is OK at just less than 30 mph.

20 sounds right. Just wanted to reassure OP to get going at speed to test it.ekimj10 wrote:Instructions state "as long as you are going faster than 20 mph" you can engage cc.
