!Bluetooth Handsfree Static Noise!

Hey all, new to the forum and BMW's.
It's a great forum with lots of information.

I have recently bought a 2003 BMW Z4 (E85) 3.0i Roadster and have just managed to pair my IPhone 5s to the car.
The car can access the phone book and last calls etc.

The problem that I'm having is that when you make a call from the car through the Bluetooth Handsfree system the receiver of the call hears a loud static type noise and the callers voice is quiet. (Only static at Receivers end not car end)

This sound disappears when the car is switched off and to the first key position (1).

To me is like there is interference coming from something with the engine.


Is there a noise cancelling device that can be fitted or would it be to do with the Bluetooth frequency getting scrambled with something else in the car?

Could it be a daily microphone?

Any help would be much appreciated.
