I have a 2.0i and have the yellow brake light and traction control light come up sometimes but disappears when the engine is restarted. The lights are not permanent. I've had the dsc unit recoded and the lights don't come back for weeks. Any idea what else this could be? The repair option is £850 and a new unit is over £1800.
The 2.0i litre doesn't have dsc sensors on the master cylinder.

Yellow handbrake and yellow traction control light
Hi
Had brake light and traction light on mine (2.0) a few weeks back, which turned out to be the brake pressure sensors on the master cylinder. Its just a case of tracing which one has failed, I replaced both as I understand its a common fault. Cheap fix.
Good luck

Just having this on my M model. With a stock Z4 you should be able to get some decent error codes from INPA etc.
I'm stuck with my M and it's different ECU / modules damm it.

The ABS pump is prone to failure on our Zeds. You can get it rebuilt for around £250 plus labour costs.

Yellow handbrake and yellow traction control light
Hi thanks for the replies. I've had it connected to the BMW diagnostic computer Saturday. Came up with dsc coding. Had it recoded and still getting both lights. The 2.0i doesn't have the brake pressure sensors on the side of the master cylinder. Just the 2 pipes going into the dsc unit. I've took photos to confirm this. Maybe I'm missing something. I'm taking it back into BMW tonight for free if they can do anything to it.

Been to BMW today, had the steering wheel angle sensor calibrated. Hopefully that will have sorted out the 2 lights. No fault codes for the dsc unit or sensors.
