I think one of my handbrake cables broke yesterday. Pulled the lever and heard a loud "snap".
Parkbrake still works on the left side, but there is nothing on the right side.
Removed the gaiter around the lever and access seems to be a big PITA.
Has anyone changed these cables? Any good DIYs out there?

Handbrake cable snapped
Changed both my cables last year. Quite an intensive job. Heatshields and Exhaust need dropping down. You can get away with just unbolting the back end of the exhaust and have enough play to remove heatshields.
Took me and my dad about 5 hours in his garage.
Mine weren't snapped, but very stretched. I had no handbrake at all. After replacing the 2 rear cables, it works fine now.

Thanks for the info.
Do I loosen the complete lever assembly from underneath the car, or can I change the cables with the lever in place?

Is there no way to feed the new cable through using the old? I got a feeling this is going to be a job i need to do soon as im on the last click of my handbrake ratchet to get a good bite.
