Looking for some guidance on Iphone/Aux ...

Post by Paza3 » Mon Dec 19, 2011 10:08 pm

Hi Guys

I have an 07 Coupe and have the addition Aux in under the air-con , so was looking for some guidance on the best route I just want to play the music , and happy to control via iphone , would be nice via the radio but not fundamental.

Now am looking for a stealth look so no wires so not looking to hang a wire down under the controls, I found this thread which looks great

http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic ... 31&t=31987 , so want to this in mine so happy here.

Just wondering how I can do this? and handwire in, or is there a better route?

Thanks in advance

Paza

I use one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FiiO-L1-Line- ... m19cbd71fb
The lead is long enough so that my ipod lays on the ashtray cover, with no stray wires it works for me.

Via the ipod i usually just set it to shuffle so really don't need to operate it

I purchased a nokia bluetooth car kit , CKW - 7 i think I also have a full speaker loom , so works via cars speakers , I managed to get all that for just under a tenner.

Just ordered a cradle and cable going to reproduce the thread I originally posted. Will update the progress, all in should cost me less than £20 quid so cannot complain :)

I ordered a E46 aux cable so I will be installing an aux-in soon. Most of you install it under the controls or in the ashtray but that means my iphone or ipod will be visible and I hate loose stuff or cables in the car. I rather have it in the glovebox, so I can leavy my ipod in there. Has anybody done this before?

Look forward to seeing this develop. Make sure you post lost of pic and spec/shopping list with link. Like to see how this solution is tackled. Seems to produce some nice ideas.
