ADVISE NEEDED - grinding noise when reversing

i have just started getting a grinding mouse when slowly reversing sounds like grinding brakes on disc or other metal grinding, can any one let me know if they know what it is, before I take the car into the dealer/ garage- the car is Z4 a drive 35i 2009

Only does it in reverse, but could be

Shoes for the handbrake have come loose and catching when you reverse ???

No shoes on the rear, only pads.
I would jack the car and spin the wheels to try and pinpoint where the noise is coming from and see if anything is obvious.

try pushing the metal dust covers behind the discs you might have a stone trapped in them
