Frosty windows
Hi all,
I've had a quick search and couldn't find anything on this (but point me in the right direction if I'm wrong!).
With the cold weather these past couple of weeks, I've had a few mornings where it's taken a while to get into the Zed because the window won't drop far enough. The top of the window is fine (possibly because I'm a gummi pflege user), the problem is at the bottom.
How do you guys prevent this (other than keeping the car in a garage...)?
Can damaged be caused to the window motor by it struggling to open?
Cheers!

I've had this a few times... jug of mildly warm water sorts it every time. But yes, frustrating design floor telling us all to wrap the z4 up for the Winter and drive something else

I find this incredibly frustrating, as both my Z4 and 4 GC have frameless windows and suffer similar issues.
I spoke to my dealer back in October about this and asked if they had a product or remedy for this.
The answer was No and they had not hear of Gummi Pflege.
A few weeks back when the windows were frozen solid on both sides, I decided to fill and old kettle with mildly warm tap water (never use hot water), poured it at the top and bottom of the window. It worked a treat, I've hade to do this on a couple of occasions since.
I agree with Rathean's comments.

Sounds like that is the best solution then, thanks chaps!
I will also try a bit of Gummi at the bottom as part of my next clean - can't hurt I suppose.
Happy winter motoring!

Same happened to me this morning....
Kettle method with mildly warm water sorted it quickly enough.
I have done all the seals with Gummi P since i purchased in summer;
but will try another treatment of GummiP come the weekend.

Frequent issue with me over the cold periods too. I also use warm water which seems to do the job.

So many using warm water to ease freezing problems do you not wonder where that water will sit & then re-freeze
Id keep things as dry as possible & use products that prevent the issue from happening in the first instance

Might as well use cold water.
I use cold water by the bucket to defrost aircraft, works.
But not if it's -5 or below.

I remember being taught something similar back in my schooldays.
I don't use hot water, just a degree of two above cold tap water.
