you have to paint the other hubs the same way, otherwise the symmetric police will get you..

For what it's worth I think the hubs should always be silver, irrespective of the caliper colour. Just because that's the colour they are when they're new. I did both my calipers and hubs with the same paint hammerite silver in my case. However, as Beedub says, very tidy job

Indeed, it was already quite disturbing to see the car parked like that during this week... :P

Thanks for the compliments, I must admit that my wife helped me with the first layer!

So I gave another try today, armed with a Dremmel and a bunch of other brushes this time to give the other rear wheel a special treat.

Here is the result:

I think it makes the wheel look more conventional this way and is easier for me to live with. However... kinda boring, no?
Also I could not reach the area between hub and disc, therefore rust is still visible and bare metal will also be happy to welcome the corrosion soon again.

Next week-end:
last episode as I will do both front wheels!

A good job but I still think it would be worth painting those hubs silver - I would worry that they won't stay like that and will rust up within a few weeks if not days. Painting the hubs silver is such an easy job in comparison to the effort in removing the rust continuously - or have you coated them with something? The finished job makes the hubs look clean and new for much longer. You're certainly working at it though - whatever you end up doing it's a big improvement.

Yes, I finally decided I will do all hubs in grey, it looks definitely nicer and smarter... the only thing is to find the time, I've been busy all week-ends so far. But holidays are on sight now, so I shall have everything done by soon!

And if I have enough paint, I will do the fence around the house too

As I completed the four wheels (yes, I've done it!), below are some pictures of the final result.
Well, you saw the first wheel, so I have done the three others the same way. But to celebrate the end of the work, I decided to go for a little ride to the nearest cool road. 8)

I fancy M-sport Blue for my Calipers. Any idea where I could find the correct shade?

I painted mine hammerite smooth blue. It's in between the bmw badge blue and not quite as dark as the msport blue. If I knew how to post pics I would show you. I think it looks good anyway.

You can check Foliatec's colours, they've a blue which is not to different from M-sport (or I got it wrong).

The product is really of good quality (if you don't mind the brush in the kit...). It just requires a good cleaning of the caliper's parts and a bit of care not to spill the paint where you don't want it, i.e. brake lines
