There is a bill pending in Pennsylvania that would ban smoking in all public places and it will likely pass...

Indeed - what a pleasure it was during our holidays there last year that we could go in any pub and have some food without being poisoned!

As far as I am concerned the real upside to smoking was that it almost guaranteed freedom from children. A choice of smoking or non-cmoking in 'restaurants' for me was a no contest; smoking every time and away from children.

A bad bad bad day.

I guess we will need a smoking section in the Forum...

So, I take it that "children" are served in the non-smoking sections?

Wow, we've had that ban here for a while now. There was this big uproar from all the bars about how they were gonna go out of business and stuff. It's not the end of the world, and people still go to bars.

I think the harder we make it for people to smoke, the less excuses they will have for not quitting.

As long as there is a place outside, I do not mind. Tend to get a little perturbed when it is cold and raining out, but that is a choice I make.
With that said, a couple of the bills trying to pass included outdoor areas. I really do not like the direction this is heading, and wonder what may be on the chopping block next (alcohol, scant clothing, exotic dancers :idunno: ).

Continue the damnation of all us smokers :P .....

Cheers!

All of those things you mention can be had in moderation with no ill side effects. Even a little bit of smoking is no good for you or the others around you. If you worked in a hospital like I do taking care of these people, you'd never smoke. It just makes no sense.
