Widow Regulator story!
My passenger side window regulator started to make a grating noise so didn't want to leave it till it stopped.
Called into a local garage for a price to supply and fit, fair play to him he rang Sytner straight away and said
£165. or £230 inc. vat and fitting!
Booked it in as he could do it following day, so far so good. Following day got a phone call to say it was ready to pick up!
When I pulled up outside the garage my car was parked up facing the road, was clear the splitter had been damaged, I was very calm and went to speak to the garage owner who's first words were, did you notice?
Ah, Yeh!! He apologised though and explained that he had driven into the garage to start the work but the floor plates that usually cover the rollers for the MOT work hadn't been replaced, when he drove over the rollers the front hit the leading edges of the steel ramps.
He has ordered a new splitter now through Sytner from Alpina which is going to take 10 working days for delivery. Not a stock item apparently its made after payment is made in full.
I did feel sorry for him a bit, accidents happen we all know! and its now costing him just shy of £500 for part, painting and fitting.
I wont be driving it till its done.
My window is working fine now, but I don't think I will use him again

You took it well considering he wasn't going to 'fess-up unless you noticed

Once you get it back, check for wind noise. My driver side regulator was replaced a couple of years back, and took 3 trips back to get the window alignment correct (wind noise was only noticeable once you went above 40mph...). No wind noise now

That'll be fine Mark. Brian doesn't ever go over 40. (I've been on his trips!)

Disappointed no one has had a stab at the 'Widow' title mishap...

Did you notice that the list of things you can assign an axis to included Throttle for all engines and separately there is Engine 1 Throttle, Engine 2 Throttle, etc?
