For Sale - Hayward and Scott Exhaust and X Pipe Z4MC

Post by apex » Wed Nov 26, 2014 6:35 pm

Hi all,

As above, I took this off my M Coupe before trading it against a C63 earlier this year.
System fitted Dec 2012 so only on for a year and 6k miles.

Paid £1020.00 when new so I guess best offer over £500.00 would work for me.

If there's any interest I'll post up some pic's, its as it came off the car so a bit grubby but more important to me is a hassle free sale.

Have a few other odds and sods I'd bundle into the deal (pedal covers, stubby etc...)

Based in Guiseley, North Leeds if you want to check it out personally.. Please feel free to drop me a text on 07710 408576 to Andy M if you'd prefer...

Hi all,

Just a quick note to say the system is now sold subject to inspection, and payment. Happy to take a bit less for it than it might be worth for a stress fee sale. Some might approve the money will go into my 205gti project, a car I suspect many M owners will have cut their teeth with.

I owned Imola Red Coupe YE57ZWB for two years and loved it, I traded for the C63 as I need a bit more space for clobber, bikes etc, and like the M it was an itch that needed scratching. Both great cars, the M is certainly not a million miles away from the AMG in "real world" pace...

Although probably classed as a "lurker", this forum gave me so much information both during and ahead of ownership, thanks for that...

Cheers

Andy

Can I ask what you thought of the exhaust? Noise, drone, complemented the engine note? Might buy one in the future and seems to be quite rare fitted to an M!
Cheers

... its a very subjective thing to comment on really, one persons too loud/quiet is another persons sweet spot. I listened to the usual Youtube clips and didn't think you could make your choice from that. I have no benchmarks to compare it to apart from the stock system, and I have no reason to believe it better, worse than other systems out there. H&S fitted my system and returned my stock system by mail, they were great to deal with.....

The back boxes are far lighter than and smaller which means your loose the dangle of the stock system and the pipes are bigger (which I liked).

It's considerably louder than stock, noticeably more so on startup and accelerating hard, you lose the metallic tick you get from the stock system the sound is deeper, angrier. Loose change in cubbies will vibrate, though I didn't get any cabin boom but I reckon it was right on the edge of doing so. I "felt" the car was quicker especially top end but again that could be subjective. All the comments I had from those listening on the outside were really positive...

It's a no brainer for a weekend/summer toy, maybe a bit much for a 15k a year daily but again its subjective. Equally think a CSL airbox would be great or a set of genuine CSL's...

P.S Prices seem to have picked up almost to what I paid 3 years ago now for mine, and I can't see the luke warm reception of the new M3/4 harming you at all...

H&S Exhausts and X-Pipe are a great mod in my opinion although as above probably not best for a daily driver :)

And its on...

Certainly different noise from OEM....Deeper and noisier as expected, that goes to a howl when under acceleration and high RPM..

Off to Manchester to do a few tunnel runs.........
