WTD: Set of nice 18" wheels [now ordered]

Post by David-H » Tue Jan 27, 2015 7:20 pm

The Bad News: Last week some w@nkers broke into my garage and stole the MV1 wheels with Falken tyres that I had up for sale on the Forum last year. They also stole all my Stihl gardening equipment which was worth about £2.7K when new. :(

The good news: My personal possessions insurance appears to have covered all the items and have authorised paying out £655.00 for the wheels & tyres and £2000.00 for the Stihl equipment. :)

Consequently, I'm looking for a set of nice, genuine, BMW 18" staggered wheels for my Z4MC as the ride is somewhat harsh with the 19" 3i3M's on there at the moment and I want to try going back to 18" with some new non-runflat tyres to see how it goes.

If it's of any interest, I do have a set of 108's that could be included in any deal (minor scuffing on one wheel and a tiny bit of peeling on one or two.)

Let me know what you've got!

Cheers,

David

Bad luck. But good outcome :-)

What are you planning for the 313's...?

Scrotes ! At least the cars were left alone David
On the plus side the MV1s went without need for wrapping or courier

Searchwise with your M having rather unique offsets a set of 18inch alloys from E90 3 series should offer the best solution OEM i have been looking but they seem top money most of which need also refurb to be 100% mint

I agree, good they didn't mess with the cars Andy. It seems to have been a very 'targeted' theft and only two people fit the necessary 'profiles' of knowing what was there and what to take i.e. previous knowledge; Those are our previous 'gardener' who took a great interest in the Stihl gear and also gave a false name plus the Romany scrap dealer he recommended to take away an old cast iron bath that we no longer needed. He also took a great interest in the Stihl gear.

Top price for the right wheels, if it's not a rip off, is not a problem, especially if the 108's can be taken into account. I'm always willing to pay a fair price for good gear.

I think these would look awesome on your car. Dark grey on Silver Grey is an immense combo.

Not really what I'm after, especially as I'm looking to put new 265/35/18 plus 235/40/18 Michelins on my car. However, the Rims look pretty nice so I'll ask The OP on that thread if he can split the wheels & tyres and see how much he wants for the Rims.

Thanks anyway.

The 313's came straight out of the box from BMW and the tyres are also new Eagle F1's with < 200 miles on them which, even with discounts, cost me about £2000 not so long ago. I'll probably keep them but could be persuaded to sell them for the right money.

No longer WTD: Set of nice 18" wheels

Post by David-H » Thu Jan 29, 2015 1:50 pm

UPDATE:

Nothing forthcoming, so decided to go with a set of brand new flow-forged APEX ARC-8 wheels, imported from CA Technologies in the States, 8.5" x 18" ET38 fronts & 9.5" x 18" ET35 rears. Fronts are flat and rears concave in Hyper Silver. They should be delivered in about 2 weeks time.

Shown here on a black Coupe but should look just as good on my Silver Grey Coupe. 8)

My wife showed me a picture last night one of her friends sent her, it was an Audi garage somewhere and about a dozen cars in the forecourt had had their wheels stolen.
They wernt even sitting on bricks, just dumped on the ground with no wheels.

The wheels are imported by the Company and they sort it all out and then ship them to the customer. The cost is about £1300.00 in total including import duties, VAT and courier, delivered with no tyres.
