Just got myself an M wheel, but it's not got the buttons. I presume I can retrofit these? Hoping the wiring is already in there as mine is an early one, and the cruise was plug and play.
Anyone got a spare set they want to sell? My wheel trims are black BTW.

To get the connection from the wheel hub into an early car you'll need the BMW retrofit cable. It goes from the back of the steering wheel contact ring plug and connects on to the K Bus wiring in the back of the light switch centre (LSZ). Dead easy to fit for a man of your calibre. I can look up PIN numbers of the relevant LSZ plug designations if it helps. You could make the cable yourself but the BMW cable has the right colour ways, sleeving and terminal pins. It also comes with "decent" scotchlok style connectors.

Cable was £6.

Can't help you sourcing the buttons and their wiring, or plastics though, sorry.

Cheers Dameon. Th, I think I might prefer it without the buttons as they duo take up a fair amount of thumb space so to speak.

I agree. It's hardly much effort to reach over a few inches and operate the radio. I don't use mine as I'm frightened of damaging the lovely new coating

I much prefer buttons, but if you don't like them then I'm sure someone will
I find it easier to take the instrument cluster out to access the LCM loom, with the wheel and trims off, of course.
