Possible final direction...
I am really considering this kit atm.. Its been a while and have done quite a bit of research into it, contacted Flossman and have had a few good emails backwards and forwards between them.
Is there anyone else here who would be interested in doing a GB?
Haven't quite pulled the trigger on it yet, but i am getting there. biggest hurdle will be having parts left over around my house, the wife will not like more "crap" around the place..
Id be looking at the CF stuff.
Its the same kit as in this thread.

Thought thats pretty much for track car only, i still want mine to be able to run on the road. So looking for lighter weight and wide wheels to fit. also going to keep with my current rear wing and boot. (Byron, yeah man, i know how heavy the boot is man, we've talked about it before and Flossman DO do a CF boot lid.. so i might be tempted with that...all depends on available funds)
The flossman site...

I hear its a lot of panel work to make it look like OEM, but i figure, if not where i am living now (where labour is cheap) then when?
Not entirely convinced yet, but i am getting there.. pretty sure that this is the direction where id like to take my car next..
This is with APR wing and stock boot in place.
and rear shot of 2 cars..
side shot, looks like crap with silver wheels.. black on the other hand..
anyways, created this thread to start thinking and branching ideas in what would need to be done for the car to retain its OEM quality. I guess it will shed some weight using the CF parts..
Anyone have any ideas, please feel free to share them.
I wish i could find another cheap as chips e86 M, than the decision would be ohh so easy!!!, id like to remove a lot of the interior if i went in this direction, which would be a shame for my current M. Anyways, ..
Those last 2 pics show at least 2 fingers of height between the top of the tire and the fender, i would imagine due to crappy roads, where i live i would be able to reduce that with no worries to 1 finger.. like i have on my current car.

That would be perfect for a track car, but it looks like a serious compromise for road use. I've pondered about replacing every panel with carbon fibre and increasing the width of front and rear arches as a part of that, but I've yet to see a kit that would work for a car used on both the road and track. One day when money is unlimited (and I haven't just paid for my wedding), I'll look at it seriously, but a supercharger will come first for me.

Isn't it all a little extreme for track days. If you were in a racing series I could understand but for track day fun it seems pointless. I'd stick with what you have at the moment but just carry on changing to carbon components to save weight.

My preference for widebody is the Slek one....but not sure if it provides any track benefits.

That’s much more like what I’ve had in mind. In fact, it would be just about perfect with wheels of a different colourAngelus666 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2017 6:57 pm My preference for widebody is the Slek one....but not sure if it provides any track benefits.

Never mind two fingers, you could fist that gap!
Personally i'd far sooner put the money into original looking carbon panels or in to building an absolutely mental NA s54/s65

^^^ This!.
My dream;
Redo all the (at least) front panels in carbon to try and lose weight from the front (which is the impossible bit with our cars), losing it from the rear is relatively easy and will upset f/r balance.
Redo the engine fully, like really properly the most modern materials to redo the S54 ala what's going on here...

It makes 500 hp, and it should rev beyond 9000 rpm."

I had the luck and joy of driving an eagle e-type recently, this is exactly what they did and recast the jag straight six in aluminium... but it does cost a million squid!

Not sure on that OP......
id LOVE carbon doors, fenders and trunk lid all painted in the stock Ti silver maybe widened slightly , do some head work, let it rev to 8250 with my current Blower setup and live a happy man, this engine at the top of the rev range with boost is something i will never quite get my head around!

Or maybe just chop it in and buy a 991 GT3 and get what you're really looking for...?

that singer donk is sex on a stick, but so is the price tag that comes with it. depending on how much stuff i wanna pull out of the coupe, i think its a viable option (cash flow wise) for me to get into something more hard core. might do a bit more thinking on this.. i just wish i had a ratted out z4mc, then the decision would be soo easy..
