Good Morning!
Daft question, I've got a set of winters (BMW Style 158) 17x8 and wondered if they'll fit on the Zed?
I was going to put these on the 440 but have been told they won't fit (I'm guessing the front caliper is too big and wouldn't have enough clearance).
just wondered if any one here had success with 17" rims on the Z4M?
Cheers,
T1b

You need 18” to clear the front calipers.
Although there is something* at the back of my mind that says certain 5 series 17” wheels might fit. Mr wilks was the source from memory.

Try them , i tried a set of 17s on a previous Zmr & they fit over the caliper .
The style 158s should be fine , though 8j et 34 might look a little undersized on rear but adding a 10/15mm spacer would cure that .

hmmm, I might just leave it and pick up the Winter wheel package from BMW for the 440i or scour eBay for some Style 397's and some winter run fats

I've got my eye on some OEM (one hopes) BMW style 397 wheels, which I was hoping to put some winters on. Here's the daft thing. In the BMW genuine accessories web page they state the 440i winter wheel package is only compatible with the Continental Winter Contact TS 830P.
Switch to the Pirelli Option W240 SottoZero it says "No!! These are not for your car!!"
Surely if its the right size and its a RF it makes no difference?

What about the speed rating? I think it’s illegal to fit a tyre that’s rated below the performance of the carT1berious wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2017 11:23 am I've got my eye on some OEM (one hopes) BMW style 397 wheels, which I was hoping to put some winters on. It's not illegal to have a lower speed rating so long as it covers the speed you actually drive at.
Given that in the UK you officially never go more than 70mph I'm not aware of a rating that goes lower.
