The wife took the car to work today and I've just noticed oil over the drive from the rear of the car. Its a light clear oil, I'm not mechanically minded, so any ideas what it could be? Diff? Gearbox? I did add engine oil the other day as it was a little low, but not much and the leak is defiantly from the rear.
My AUC warranty expires at midnight on Monday, so I'm starting to panic.....and I'm due to go on the North Wales run on Sunday.

Most likely the diff input or output seals, had all my diff seals replaced recently at a local indi for approx £300.
I must say i never ended up with oil on the floor, my leak manifested itself as a light covering of the plate underneath the diff.
There is only just over a litre of oil in the diff, so if there is drops on the floor id probably advise not to use it, driving with no/low diff oil is one way to ruin an LSD fast!

As Kernow points out most likely to be weeping seals on diff & as he also points out its not worth the risk running it when you don't know how much oil has been lost
£300 is a decent price for all seals doing , i doubt a main dealer would be anywhere close to that

My AUC warranty runs out on Monday at midnight. I've managed to get a service slot for Monday morning, so its going in. Hopefully it will be sorted under warranty. Thank god the wife took the 'Z' to work......I've never said that before
