Not quite the same but I took my pup in the roadster last weekend on the girlfriend's lap. Little bugger sicked everywhere.

You sure they don't take you for a drive? Seem like smart buggersexdos wrote:I have a pair of Bedlington Terriers that travel quite happily in the back of my Z4 MC. I don't want to deprive your dogs from experiencing the Zed, but:
The owner of our last dog's Dad had 2 show dogs. She owned a big old Volvo estate (740?). She was on the inside lane of a motorway and a car coming down the slip road clipped the rear corner of the Volvo, which caused the tailgate to open. Fortunately the dogs didn't try to get out, but I guess that a lot would have.
For that reason we have a custom-built cage in the rear of our Discovery. It also ensures that she doesn't try to jump out when we open the tailgate.

My two are harnessed in the boot to ensure they a) don't get too close to the back in case of any accident and b) to stop them leaping out when I open the boot. This is in the Merc estate of course. In the e89 they're either in the footwell or passenger seat harnessed in.

I finally took the labradoodle for a real drive today. A picnic at the beach with dog and daughter. 20 minutes drive there, and 20 minutes back. It seemed to go ok except for 3 issues:
A boot full of sand
Dog farts in a small enclosed cabin
Stupid dog assumes we are there when the engine goes off, so stands up and whacks his head on the back window

Yeah, he seemed OK. He prefers the back of my touring, probably because he can see out and doesn't bang his head ! I think a Z4C would be ok for a short journey, but not a long trek.Stonecarver2 wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2017 11:47 pm That looks pretty snug, but plenty enough room for the dog. Did your dog seem happy enough in the space??
