Posessed wipers
Hi guys,
Started having intermittent problems with my windscreen wipers starting up for no reason (dry weather)
I do have a raineX treatment on windscreen
Any clues?

Your car is psychic - well, it's bound to rain eventually

Re: Posessed wipers
I assume you mean on the auto setting?
Condensation on windscreen in area of sensor, or a faulty sensor?

Re: Posessed wipers
On mine, knock the wiper arm up one for auto, another notch for slow continuous and once more for fast continuous.
Neat trick on a sunny day, but thats not annoying at all

Re: Posessed wipers
Auto setting is one click up from 'off' on the wiper stalk.
The sensor is in the housing behind the rear view mirror.
I assumed all Zeds had them but could be wrong - there will be a small 'window' in the center when looking from outside

Re: Posessed wipers
More likely grease in the motor where it should not be. There is a how to on here on fixing the issue.

Re: Posessed wipers
Ok situation is worse now (excorsism failed)
Tried all the setting I have but still they come on.
Im gonna be selling it soon, but for now.......
is there a way to de-activate the sensor without going to a dealer ,remove a fuse,or something as a temporary fix, until I can get to a dealer?
Thanks as always guys.
