Right, I want to look into the coding and put things like auto door locking, triple indicator on tap etc etc.
What do i need to do this?
Can i use a MAC? Or a VM within a MAC?
Anyone have any advice for it etc?
Cheers

I imagine there is a way to do it at home but not sure of an official one...
I got my dealer to do it when the car was in for a service. If you have a local friendly indie with the facilities they'll do it for beer money I'm sure.

You need SSS on a windows based machine. Don't think it will work on a Mac using a VM as there are two programs that need to run outside of the VM. If you can boot into windows instead of iOS then install VMware you might be ok.
You can get the program with interface on the bay for about £25. Loos for BMW DIS, SSS, INPA.

You can use VMware, but then you have to use virtual machine in a virtual machine I have a mac and have done it, I had XP virtual machine in mac enviroment and started win srv2003 into it. But it was very slow.
Another way is to use bootcamp to start windows and then use virtual machine.
Or if you can use BMWhat software in your phone or tablet. If you have face lift model, you need Bluetooth adapter for Android or Wifi adapter for iOS device.
This option is easier to use than those PC based softwares.

Re: What do i need for the Key Memory Functions
I was playing with this last night funnily enough.
Do it all on NCS Expert, avoids the need for any VMware as you run it straight from Windows. There's even a guy on YouTube doing exactly that on a Mac, so it's much easier.

Re: What do i need for the Key Memory Functions
please check out what can be done with the BMWhats app as is states on their website E85 "in some cases only a few ECUs can be diagnosed, no coding"
