Seal and Protect

Post by Medium Dave » Thu Oct 23, 2008 12:10 pm

My car came with BMWs Seal and Protect. BMW say there is no need to polish the car for a good while while other people tell me to polish it as normal. Who is right?

Order of application/preparation:

Wash
Clay Bar
Wash
Polish (various grades dependent on swirls/minor scratches)
Finish Polish
Wax or Synthetic Protectant
Sealant

All depends what your finish needs really.

Sounds like a lot of work! It seems that the answer is don't leave it for 18 months as BMW say. Get on and polish NOW. Thank you for the replies.

Medium Dave, remember it is 90% preparation, 10% product. Some owners are obsessed with the appearance of their vehicle(s), some don't give a toss. Your eyes will tell you what you want.

Cheers,
Greg
