ODB port not working, can I check it?
I had a misfire last week so I tried to use my diagnostics cable to see what was going wrong. However I could not get connection. After asking round someone told be to measure the voltage between pin 4 and 8 and pin 4 and 7. Pin 4 and 8 were fine but pin 4 and 7 have no voltage. Apparently this means there is something work with the ODB port. Is there any way I can access the ODB port to see if the fault is in the port itself or somewhere else in the wiring? Another question anyone had similar problems?

Just a suggestion - have a look around under the dash in case a previous owner has fitted an isolation switch. I've heard of a few BMWs where owners have done this in response to fears of thefts by programming a new key via the OBD port.
