Mine went at 40k. If you've got a warranty then just sit tight until a misfire pops up then roll it in to the dealer for some new injectors.

The injectors went on mine at 20,000 miles and replaced Under the extended warranty

It will be injectors so if you are still in warranty I'd get video evidence as per the above and try to persuade BMW to do the necessary. Out of warranty they are expensive to replace @ circa £1,200 for 6 + fitting. Incidentally the design changed at least twice over the lifetime of the E89 so any new ones fitted now are likely to be trouble free.
Dario - nice to see you are still hanging around the forums old friend. I remember you from a road trip to the Isle of Man many moons ago. I think I was known as SpunkyM back then I had the black S54 Z3M. I remember you had a Z4 with a mental exhaust and induction system . What a trip that was!

I'll have to wait for it to be more 'faulty' as there are no error codes and the misfire/idle issue is fairly intermittent/inconsistent at the moment.

You got the car and Miltek exhaust right lol. IMMSMC this was a Spokey Wheeler organised run. I have a 2009 23i with 77k on the clock. At 75k miles I had it terracleaned, amazing difference, smoother, quieter, and more mpg (bonus). Well worth a try on any vehicle over 25k, especially if your using supermarket fuel.....

Unfortunately that won't clean the inlet valves on a direct injection engine
How much did this cost you?

£50, direct injection engines often inject straight onto the back of the inlet valve, one of the reasons for deposit build up in the area. I am not sure of the exact direction of the injected fuel but will check out your info, many thanks. Regardless its worth a go.....

I thought terraclean worked my pumping a concentrated fuel cleaner through you fuel system and injectors ?

So the car is booked in for next week but in the meantime I've put in some RedEx for the last tank full and it's improved... think I may cancel the appt and just see if it continues to improve as there's no missing now just a slightly lumpy idle when cold and I've still half the redex to go....

Sigh, the rough when cold running has returned. The longer the car stands the rougher it's next start. Still no codes though, don't want to risk diagnostic fees until it's showing codes.
It's not a regular misfire, it's spotty. It's also bouncing revs when I try and hold them other than at idle.
