E85 Alarm issue
These past couple of weeks my alarm has been going off almost every night. Bit of research on the forum lead to me disconnecting the bonnet pressure switch/sensor Wednesday night. Alarm still went off Thursday evening
All doors are shut plus the glove box, centre console and ash tray.
I fitted my dash cam at a similar time to this starting but I can't see how that would affect it.
Any advice? Unsure of what to look at next

How is your battery? They can cause all sorts of gremlins while still being able to start the car, the dash cam could be drawing enough in addition to up the balance. One method to eliminate would be to leave the car on charge overnight and see if it happens.

I had exactly the same issues. I bought a Ctek conditioning charger and connect it over night every couple of weeks and the problem has gone away. The car doesn't get used much, maybe once a week at this time if year, so I pressume the battery wasn't getting charged often enough. Think it cost me about 70 quid, but at least the neighbours are my friends again.
Now gone.......Z4MR. 2007. Boring silver.

Have you tried disconnecting the new dash cam, simply to eliminate it from the possible causes.

Thanks for the suggestions
Yeah parked it up at work this morning. Unplugged the camera. 10 hours later drove home (30 minutes) without the using the dash cam, alarm went off 20 minutes after parking up.
Sounds strange but it has only ever gone off on the driveway. Never at work, shops etc..

I've no idea when the battery was last replaced (if ever). I've used to camera for years in other vehicles without similar issue. I'd rahter not have to keep charging the battery every so often.AldridgeZ4 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2017 11:25 am I had exactly the same issues. My motorcycle alarm does that, only ever does it in my garage,
Every now and then it bleeps as if i'm setting the the alarm
I have a feeling its the PIR sensor for the house/garage alarm, as the battery went flat in it and the motorcycle alarm stopped bleeping.
it has started again now I've replaced the battery, but its not as bad as it was before.

Could be a fault with the tilt sensor?

Regarding the motorbike only going off in your garage, I had the same issue with a car.. everytime i used the microwave in the kitchen (next to the garage)...
To the original poster, INPA or Ediabas (BMW diagnostic software) will tell you the reason for alarm going off. The alarm module / body controller stores the details regarding alarm activation. E.g status of doors, bonnet, battery voltage, outside temp, etc.

That's interesting, I don't use a microwave in the garage but my garage is very close to my neighbors kitchen.donkey-feet wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2017 7:11 am Regarding the motorbike only going off in your garage, I had the same issue with a car.. everytime i used the microwave in the kitchen (next to the garage)...
It's only rarely that the alarm actually goes off, but it regularly bleeps and resets, which is a PITA if i'm working on it or cleaning it

Bit of an update with this...
1 week with the dash cam mounted but not plugged in - alarm still goes off
1 week with it removed completely from the car - alarm still goes off
So i'm confident it's not related to this now
Also its not just isolated to my driveway anymore, it sounds anywhere I park
It doesn't sound when I lock the car with the key in the lock but thats not ideal
Looking into the tilt sensor location now and checking the condition of my battery

If it were me, I'd be putting a new battery in. If you have a charger or want one (CTEK cheap on Amazon today) then fully charge it and see if that stops it for a while.

Mine was doing weird things with windows and locking when it was low. Would still happily start the car though.
