Porsche 996 Carrera 4S
So I had a Polestar 2 on order, and following a screw up by the leasing company, I ended up missing out on the government EV grant meaning the monthlies went up by a bit of a chunk.
So threw my toys out the pram completely by cancelling the order and bought this instead
Absolutely loving it so far, and that exhaust note with the Porsche Sports Exhaust is something else

I think the leasing company did you a favour.
Your 996 looks much better, and more exciting, than any Polestar!

You can't beat a 911, IMO. In the old days everybody should have had an Alfa at some point, now I think the same applies to a 911. I am quite jealous. I prefer the 997 but that's just semantics.

All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

Thanks everyone! Really happy with it, although it does mean that the Z4 is stepping up to daily duties for a while (and potentially may need to be changed for at least one practical car )
Thanks, I think they did in the end. I then just man maths it enough for it to make sense as an “investment”
Well I’ve already done the Alfa thing three times, and had a Porsche 944 about 18 months ago and regretted selling it. Most people prefer the 997, but I actually love the 996, but only in C4S guise with the wider turbo body and that red reflector

Lovely looking C4S. the best out of the 996s for sure (other than the GT3 if you're in to that). I too regret selling a 944 S2 3.0.
Porsche do this if you feel like getting the tech up-to-date:
https://www.porsche.com/uk/accessoriesa ... ghts/pccm/
It'll probably cost an arm and leg though.

Thanks, and agree it’s the best looking 996. An S2 944 is lovely - mine was a 944S but with the S2/turbo front end put on it.gadgetJunky72 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 7:20 am Lovely looking C4S. the best out of the 996s for sure (other than the GT3 if you're in to that). I’ve seen that upgrade kit, but it’s getting on for around £1.8-£2k fitted which I cannot justify for how little miles it’ll do. That and the exhaust negates the need for playing your own music

Nice Porker.
Oh and I had to Google Polestar, never heard of them.
I really should get out more since I cancelled Evo.

One of my favourites congrats! Like the decals too
Would take one everyday. The 996 is super underrated and has a lot of the essence of the 993 and 964 that people are only just starting to talk about. Jayemm on cars is a massive fan and I have always been a big fan as I was a teen when these came out and a pin up for me. I went for a vert tho, although not as stiff the noise with the top down is intoxicating especially with PSE ive got a bit obsessed with top down going from the Z4MC to the 996 4s vert and the Z4MR.
Had mine a few years and love it. I would argue the best rear of any 911 period and I also think its really grown into its looks over the years truly a modern classic and very very underrated.

Next mod for me is the PCCM classic with airplay think that will make the car so nice to have as an all rounder.
Also pretty good in the snow

Thanks, the decals definitely appear to be a marmite thing - some hate them and others love them. I personally love them.tomscott wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 9:38 am One of my favourites congrats! Like the decals too

That C4S looks lovely - don't think that I have ever seen one in that colour before! I agree that the 996 is underrated, admittedly they didn't start that well with the fried egg look headlights but I love the C4S and the rear end is lovely! I know what you mean about the PSE - I have it on mine and it's seriously addictive even if I only get it through the windows and sunroof
If you do get the PCCM classic, let me know where you get it and how you rate it. I'd love to add it to mine but it's about justifying the cost considering the car won't be used that much really.
It appears that Porsches and Z4's go more hand in hand than I thought!
Ha, they are relatively new. Tbh I was really looking forward to getting it but was messed around so much I just threw all my toys out
