Z4 ownership, US vs UK

Post by Z4WAM » Fri Jun 12, 2009 7:01 pm

It could be my imagination but it seems like there are more Z4 owners from the UK posting than in the US. I know we dont represent total ownership of course. But it got me wondering, How many Z4's were sold in US vs UK? And how does it compare per capita. Is there a higher percentage of owners in UK if not more owners outright?

the stats for visits show 60/40 UK/US, but if you look at new members it seems to be 75% UK

What you may find is the sort of people buying the Z4 now in the UK are more of an enthusiast which is why they will post on here. There are a lot more cars on the used market but before they may have been company cars so to them it was just a car for A to B which they would change in 3 years time like the owner of mine 11K on a 3 year old car is nothing but he lived in London and probably worked in London so never really got used now i own her she is treated like a god

I assume it's due to more models of the Z4 being availiable to the UK folk. Us in the U.S. don't have as many to choose from.

Is there a site more dedicated to Z4 owners in the US that the majority of US owners use rather than this one?

There are a couple of other Z-forums (with a lot of the usual suspects from here), as well as active Z-boards on general BMW forums.

Americans all drive Cadillac Escalades, while eating cheeseburgers with 64 ounce coca-colas.

i agree that the Z4 doesn't seem to be as popular here. Not sure exactly why.
