OSF gone on mine today. Bugger. Who is everyone buying from? Searching the usual suspects and I'm coming up with silly money to replace shocks and springs.

For springs I usually end up buying from Eurocarparts who always have a code/sale on the site. I bought and fitted their own brand Anschler coils to my Fiesta last week and was very pleased with the quality, at least as good as originals. Doublecheck but I think their Anschler coils for the Z4 are single rate, i.e. without the fragile tail that usually breaks off, and may have a longer warranty?
My original BMW Z4 rear multi-rate coils snapped before the car was three years old! and the second set didn't last much longer. The current single rates I fitted five or six years ago are still fine. I've always believed that BMW fitted coils with overly soft (thin) initial turns to compensate for the rigid run-flats, now I'm on non-RFT's the single rates work very well.

Replaced mine at 74,000 with Gen BMW, now done 86,000. Heard a bang similar to last time on Sunday, all looked fine at the roadside but I must take the wheels off and have a good luck. It's a pain if they have gone but could be a great excuse to get something different. If they're not broken, then it could also be time for something different. I think it would be a same not to waste the opportunity.

Both rears, spotted at MoT yesterday - haven't driven it much this year, or last year (2006 E86 on 74K miles) so hadn't noticed - though I did maybe hear a bang out on the A36 a few weeks back while distracted by the Z4M in my rear view mirror just as I was telling my dad how rare these cars are*.
Bloke at the garage asked if I was going to replace the front pair too? Nice bit of seed planting there.
*okay, not exactly the same car, it was the same colour though

I have a single very good condition genuine BMW Msport front spring for a 3.0 E85 for free if any Chesterfield members need it.

A while ago the rear os spring broke on my E85 Z4m 2006, didn't notice much difference and only realised there was a problem when the broken bit fell off whilst driving!
Occasionally, I am now hearing a small clunk when turning onto my driveway which is relatively steep. Is this a symptom of a problem with the front spring?

I doubt it but I’d be surprised if you can’t find someone local. Try Facebook.
