Me old mate in Tenerife is about to fit a new MAF & air filter box. Now I remember years go when I fitted a new MAF to my Alfa 156 I was told to do the following..........
Turn the engine on and let it idle for 20 minutes. Then take it for a 30 minute HARD drive then let it idle again for 20 minutes. Something to do with letting the car learn it’s new parameters
Should/ would the same principles apply?
TIA

E36 MAF
I'm in the process of recommissioning and restoring a '00 E36 318ti Compact Sport that has been languishing in my Mums garage for more than 3 years and have recently fitted a new MAF, ICV, battery and few other bits and pieces in the engine bay.
I just fired it up, let it warm through for 5 minutes as it had been standing for such a long time and went for a short 15 minute test drive. Everything working fine and drove perfectly. It has been driven some 500 miles now over the last month with no issues whatsoever Sterling Grey '03 2.5i SE / Infinitas Supercharger / S.M.G / Hardtop / Gloss Black 162s / Bilstein B4s / 3.0i Brakes / DLV De-Cat & Silencer / Rebuilt VANOS / Sonar 2Xcite Lights / Carbon & Alcantara Trim / M-Sport Seats / ...& Side Covers !
