New Warning Light

Post by optimistique1 » Thu Aug 17, 2023 11:28 pm

I've just got a warning light on the dashboard and according to the service manual it can be one of two things, either electrical failure or brake pads. I can't get my car booked in until September so wondered if anyone could shed any light on this.

Need code reader.
Could be failing ebrake motors at 100k plus miles.
Cheap to replace if you can do yourself.

My experience water gets into ebrake and obd gives a voltage problem.

Not surprising after all the rain we've been having over the last month. I haven't driven the car for a while so I wonder how water has got in?

That could just be rear brake pads have triggered the wear sensor TBH.
Easy to check visually if the rear pads are almost down to the metal.
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

Turns out the warning was for rear brake disks and also the air filter needs changing...
