Robbi,
How do you accomplish getting the new replacement wires past this flex point on roof shell 2. Do you run the new wires outside the harness and zip tie them.

No, I always take the rear roof shell off to be able to see what I'm going to do.
And after my repair it looks like perfectly built in the factory.

Indeed, in most cases it looks better than before.

How about roof shell one? Do you run new wires thru there? Or do you end it at the intersection of shell 1 and 2?

Don't touch #1.
I start on top at the 2-pin-connectors and pull down new wires to the intersection nefore #1.
That is possible without removing the rear shell as well, but you have to add the new wires on top of the hydraulic harness.
There is a minor risk of breaking wires in the rear lower bow, where the harness wil be bended another 180° when the roof package drives into the trunk.

It's my turn! Roof Problem!
Thanks for the help Robbi ! I finished the left side today. PIA getting to one of the zip ties in shell 2. Otherwise not too bad. Turns out the brown wire was broken and white wire had big cracks with missing insulation. Both problem wires were in the shell 2 flex joint nearest the
microswitch. I'll probably tackle the right side next week, since it's raining the next 2 or 3 days. Maybe I'll vide the other side, if I can actually see what I'm doing in that limited space..

Finally got around to replacing the wires on the right side today. Another pain in the butt.

You only have to remove 6 screws from the roof shell to get a perfect view on all lines. Replacing all wires with flexible ones plus taping the broken hydraulic lines takes only about 5 hours.

Unfortunately I don't have a helper to lift the shell off.

The shell can be removed and replaced by one single person.

Good to know. Hopefully I'll never need to do this again.
