Newbie Saying Hello

Post by DaveMac » Sat Sep 30, 2023 9:31 pm

Hi all, not long joined and been lurking around for a few days. Looking for my first Z4, so all this is new to me. The whole forum seems really friendly though, and super informative. Don't have a very big budget, but hoping to join the club soon. Cheers Dave

Welcome aboard.
Since I bought my '07 2.5si in 2016, I've found the Forum to be an invaluable source of advice, information and entertainment.
Just be aware though that, depending on the age of the car, your enjoyment of it will more than likely be periodically interrupted by warning lights, strange steering behavior, erratic this, that and the other....The list goes on.
Currently, I'm awaiting delivery of a pair of steering control arms from Autodoc which, once fitted will hopefully cure some pretty horrendous vibration issues which are occurring more frequently (worn bushes I'm told).
Also three warning lights came up on the dash on the way home from work last night even though the car felt fine.
Got in it today and no warning lights at all, but I'll ask my mechanic if he can do a diagnostic on it while he's fitting the control arms.
So this is how it is to be an owner of a Zed it seems to me, especially if you intend to use it as a daily driver.
Definitely recommended though  .
All the best,
Robert.

Welcome to the forum, as others have said this is very friendly and helpful place, I found my car here almost 2 years ago and have not regretted it. Here’s hoping you find yours soon. they are like children and need careful looking after. The cars that is not the other members
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.
